Remix

One of my favorite blogs, La Onda Tropical, has a great batch of remixes.  Chapín has can definitely pick a catchy song!  There are some great dance songs in there.  I especially enjoyed the remix of Sultanas de Merkaillo and La Tortura.

It seems like bhangra is so trendy,  everything has a bhangra beat.  I like bhangra, I'm not complaining.  People have always been influenced by music from other places, but now it's more rapid and extreme then before.  These days I'm hard pressed to name any pop music that only has one influence.  It used to be you could hear a song and guess where the artist was from.  Now when you hear a song you can pick out various influences, but not expect all the musicians to be from the same place or sticking to the music from one place.
